Be Prepared for Your New Baby: A Checklist for New Parents to Be …
I come across this great article about new baby checklist. Amanda list up a lot of items that reqiured for new parents while bringing baby back to home. Those items looks common but is important and always left out of new parents’ mind.
Here i take chance publish this article here to give some help as a new mother advice.
Be Prepared for Your New Baby: A Checklist for New Parents to Be
by: Amanda Pinkston
If you are expecting a new baby you have probably already been preparing for your little one for quite some time. Packing for the hospital and preparing your home for the new baby are the most important things you can do to make your transition from the hospital back home smoother. Here are some preparation tips that I found the most helpful before the birth of my daughter.
Pack for the Hospital
Use the checklist below as a guide when you pack your bags for your hospital stay. A checklist will ensure that you do not forget to bring something important to the hospital. Before you pack, check with the hospital to see what is provided to you to avoid over packing.
For Mommy:
( ) Socks
( ) Pajamas (a gown should be provided to you in the hospital but your own pajamas will make you feel more at home and comfortable)
( ) Maternity clothes to go home in (your tummy doesn’t magically disappear after delivery-maternity clothes will be the most comfortable to travel home in)
( ) Books/magazines
( ) Contacts/Glasses
( ) Contact case/cleaning solution
( ) Toothbrush/toothpaste
( ) Shampoo/conditioner
( ) Hair brush and styling products
( ) Make up (for those after delivery visitors)
( ) Labor supplies (massage items, aromatherapy candles-whatever you plan on using to make your delivery easier)
( ) Purse/wallet
( ) Sanitary pads
( ) Birthing Plan
( ) Any hospital paperwork required for check in
( ) Other_______________________________________________
For Daddy:
( ) Games
( ) Books/Magazines
( ) Camera/Camcorder
( ) Change of clothes
( ) Pajamas
( ) Cell phone (or change for pay phones)
( ) Wallet
( ) Other_______________________________________________
For Baby:
Typically the hospital will provide you with diapers, wipes, clothes for the new baby. However, it is always a good idea to be over prepared rather than under prepared. Here are some suggestions:
( ) Coming home outfit
( ) Diapers (usually newborns will comfortably fit into preemie diapers for the first week or two after birth)
( ) Wipes
( ) Blankets (thickness should depend on the weather)
( ) Hand sanitizer (for visitors)
Also, be sure to have the baby’s car seat secured in your vehicle. The hospital will not release you and your baby unless you have a car seat properly installed.
Prepare Meals in Advance
The best advice I received prior to having my daughter was to make sure that I had plenty of easy meals ready to go once we brought her home from the hospital. The easiest way to stock up on ready to serve meals is to over cook when preparing dinner before the baby is born and then freeze the leftovers.
If you can find the time, spend a whole day cooking meals to freeze. If you would like recipes that you can use, check out free printable recipes at The Craft Cafe (www.recipes.thecraftcafe.com). There you will find recipes for lasagna, meatballs, mushroom barley soup and many other recipes that are perfect to freeze for a later time.
Clean/Prep Nursery
To ensure that your baby has a clean and healthy environment. Take a weekend to thoroughly clean your house. Be sure to dust furniture, sanitize toys, clean the bathroom, vacuum, organize and perform any other cleaning that you will not have time to do once the baby arrives.

There are some essential items needed for new born baby. This article is giving some tips as new mother advice so that for those inexperienced mother will have some inspiration to know what to buy for their new born baby.
Essential Items For Your New Born Baby
Motherhood is one of the most challenging, gratifying and fulfilling phases of any woman’s life. It’s an entirely a new world which makes you the creator and guardian of a new life. No experience can compare to the experience of becoming a mother and having that small little baby to take care of. The advent of a new baby means buying a lot of new things, which are needed to make you and your baby comfortable. A good amount of planning is required and these things need to be bought before the arrival of the baby since you may not get time after your little bundle of joy arrives (or you may just not want to leave him!)
Since there are a lot of things needed to make you and your baby comfortable, the best way to simplify stuff is to prepare a checklist. Here are some of the essential items that are required:
1.Baby crib: The baby needs to have her own place to sleep away from mommy, no matter how much mommy may not want the separation.
2.Baby monitor: This will help you to keep an eye or ear or both on your child while they take their naps during the day so you can do other things.
3.Infant car seat: You will have plenty of trips to the doctor after the baby is born and other than it being the law that they are properly secured you will want to make sure your baby is safe.
4.Baby sling/baby stroller: There will be times you may get tired of carrying your baby around. In such times baby slings and strollers are an asset to have.
5.Diapers: You can either buy disposables or cloth diapers depending upon your preferences. Cloth diapers are as good as the disposable ones and cheaper too.
6.Baby wipes/washcloths: Baby washcloths and wipes are needed to clean your baby every time you change her. Fragrant wipes may look tempting but you don’t want to expose your baby to chemicals and preservatives, particularly in the first few days. You can also use baby washcloths and warm water.
7.Burp cloths: In the initial days most babies tend to spit up a lot of milk. Prevent your or baby’s clothes from getting soiled during spit ups.
8.Newborn sleeper pajamas: Single piece gowns with snaps are great for changing diapers as opposed to the traditional pajamas. Footed pajamas are a good choice as babies tend to kick off socks a lot.
9.Blankets: You will also need receiving and swaddling blankets to hold, swaddle, ch 1000 ange and play with the baby. It’s a great idea to have spares since they tend to get dirty frequently. You will also need some light blankets or quilts for the baby’s crib.
10.Booties, caps and t-shirts: These are essential to keep your baby warm especially at night since babies kick off their blankets.
11.Baby Bath: A baby bath is the best way to bathe your baby without getting wet.
12.Baby shampoo/baby wash: Though water is sufficient to clean your little angel, there may be times you may want to clean her thoroughly.
13.Diaper cream: Diaper rashes are a common occurrence in the first few months so keep a natural, chemical free diaper cream handy.
These are some of the essential things required to make life easier for you and the baby in the first few days.

Things To Buy For The Newborn Baby And The Expecting Couple
Things To Buy For The Newborn Baby And The Expecting Couple
Expecting a child is one of the most wondrous times for a couple, especially if the child is their first-born. But it could also be quite a challenge to the couple considering the various things they have to consider and prepare before labor or birth. Child experts and even OB Gynecologists will tell the expectant couple to prepare a few things a month or so before the projected birth date. Also, welcoming a new addition to the family should be put to consideration in order to build a harmonious relationship with all the members of the family.
Here are several things a couple needs to make sure they are ready and have considered before “the day” arrives:
Goodie Bag. This may be overlooked a lot of times by the expecting couple but being ready a month or so before the day arrives with a packed goodie bag will prove to be a very beneficial thing to do. So what should be in the goodie bag? I suggest put in everything, from small to big things, as this is technically not just a ‘bag’ but a metaphorical bag for all things needed by the couple, themselves. On the side of the expecting mother, as she is the one who will undergo labor, I suggest that she make a list of everything that can help her undergo through labor, may she chose any form of labor like normal or Caesarian. This list could include her favorite treats or foods, her favorite blanket or pillow, her favorite robe or even her most beloved scent. Make sure that the expecting mother has got everything that will make the hospital room feel like home, sure enough, labor will go smoothly when the expecting mother is fully relaxed.
Clothes for the Baby. As the couple’s center of the universe when he or she arrives, the newborn baby will surely need and get a lot of attention. Buying new baby clothes is actually one of the most fun times the expecting couple may have. As some couples do get an ultrasound for the mother five months into her pregnancy, they could be sure what clothes for a particular sex to buy. However, for couples who choose to be surprised on the birth date of the child, buying clothes which are unisex is imperative. Do consider buying newborn baby clothes which are neutral in color, white is always the perfect choice for this. Just be aware that in buying baby clothes, the couple should check for the materials used, cotton materials are breezy and do also check for hypoallergenic materials for the newborn. 1000
The Nursery. Getting the home ready for the baby is also a thing that should not be missed by the couple. Yes, some couples sometimes do get overly excited and baby-proof their home. I suggest not spending good money on baby proofing up until the half year of the child. Putting up a special place or a nursery for the baby is a good project for the expecting couple. Get a sturdy crib that could last for a good year or a couple of years as this could still be used for the next baby. Make sure that the fabric materials used suits your baby’s skin best and that the paint is lead and toxins-free.
Baby Toiletries. There is a whole market segment out there, a whole industry catering to baby toiletries. And this is a good thing for the consumers and the couples as the products do continuously become better suited for babies. Buy soaps or liquid baths that they are mild, hypoallergenic and essentially free of any harmful chemicals. Going further to this, do also look for brands of laundry detergent specially formulated for the newborns’ clothes, as the usual household detergent may sometimes be harmful to them thus getting some allergic reactions on the skin.
Birth Announcements. Getting birth announcements will make the day extra special for your baby. Sending these sentimental cards to your family and friends is good as this shows much care for the special day.
Newborn Baby Gift Basket. As newborn baby gift items or baskets could come from the couple themselves or their immediate family and friends, I decided to include this here. Buying a unique personalized baby gift basket is a good way to welcome the newborn into the world wherein he or she is warmly loved by everyone around him or her. There are a lot of great things and toys for babies out in the market but I suggest that you look for customized baby items and gifts as these show the extra effort, love and care for the child. And who wouldn’t adore a child wearing a cute personalized baby shirt? Personalized newborn gifts can be custom arranged based on the child’s gender, putting in the perfect personalized newborn baby gift items has never been so wonderful.
These are just some of the things that should be remembered in expecting a child into this wonderful world. Others to be considered are: making sure that the monetary funds will cover up to after birth for the vaccinations, etc., taking Lamaze classes, choosing the best-suited way of labor, pre-introduction to the household, and even post-natal depression.

Baby Sleeping Schedule – 7 Tricks To Make Your Baby Sleep
Having a baby could be a shock to your sleep schedule. You will find yourself waking up every few hours to feed your baby, which will make getting through the day a little difficult. There are tips and tricks to follow that will make getting through the night easier for parents and baby.
1. Be flexible. This isn?t just for your own schedule, but you want to be flexible in the way the baby is going to sleep. Babies are going to respond differently to treatments. If your baby likes a song, sing a song. If your baby likes the sound of your voice, read a book. You can many different ideas that can help get a child to sleep.
2. Develop a plan that will help you and the baby. Put down when you want your baby going to sleep for the night. Also, set a timetable as to when they should be taking their naps during the day. Set a schedule, but be flexible in that schedule. If one way isn?t working for your child, then try something different.
3. Create a nightly routine for the baby. This could mean different things such as a warm bath, cozy pajamas and singing the child to sleep. Once you find a schedule that works for the baby, stick to it. Changing the sleeping routine could confuse the baby and create unneeded stress, which will make sleeping difficult.
4. Keep consistent bedtimes. The baby will get used to falling asleep around the same time every night. This will also help your baby sleep longer and get through the night better.
5. Get the child to understand the difference between day and night rituals. Daytime is for playing while night is for sleeping. When the baby naps during the day, turn the lights down and try to keep light out. Have them think of it as night whenever they are sleeping.
6. Ensure your baby gets feedings on time. If your child misses a feeding, they could wake up hungry in the middle of the night. A crying, cranky baby is startling during your own sleep. Don?t let the baby get too hungry.
7. Make sure the bedroom is comfortable to sleep in. Regulate the temperature, turn down the lights and get a humidifier if the room gets too dry. Having a comfortable room will make sleeping easier for the baby. It will also help your baby sleep through the night.
Imagine how you like to sleep and what is comfortable for you. Your baby isn?t much different. They just like to eat a lot more. For your own sake, you might want to find time to take naps for yourself. If there is more than one caregiver, perhaps you can both take turns napping when you come from work to help ease each other?s lack of sleep.

Looking for Pediatrician help for your baby
Based on your baby s health and size, the pediatrician at the hospital will generally be able to help you work out a feeding schedule for them. This is important, especially for first-time parents, as getting the hang of feeding at the right time and in the right way can be a hit and miss process, and with a lot of other things to keep track of it will make a big difference in terms of your quality of life.
You can be the most devoted parent in the world, but you will need your own sleep and down time in order to really make it count. This is no criticism, just a fact of life.
As things stand, a baby normally wants to eat fairly regularly, but there are special cases that can make the usual advice a little bit less useful. In these cases, you will have to work to make things tick over in the way you want them to.
For example, you may not be producing milk in quite the way that you would hope. This is not through lack of intent or effort on your part, but because the human body is a complicated organism that often does not do what you want it to. The pediatrician will be worth their weight in gold in this respect.
With your intent and good will, and the advice of experienced individuals, you will become completely au fait with the best way of doing things and, before too long, the regularity which makes any process easier will kick in, so you can get on to the enjoyable aspects of parenting.

Why breast is best
Mother breast feeding is the best nutrition to a newborn baby. Newborn baby can not only get lots of best nutrition from mother’s milk but also good antibody that help develop baby’s immune system.
In the early days with a new baby, a new mother will often feel a bit daunted by the idea of breast feeding, and may struggle with the decision over when to use the bottle and when to use the breast.
As the saying goes, breast is best . This is true in that there are more natural nutrients in breast milk than will ever be found in bottled formula, and it enables the baby to grow up in better health than would otherwise be possible. There is, it goes without saying, some drawback to this. But there are drawbacks to everything, and it is how you address them that is really important.
A baby will require feeding at regular intervals, and for a mother who is breast feeding this can present a few interesting challenges. For one, there is always the concern of whether the baby will need to be fed while you are out for one reason r another. Breast feeding in public is still frowned upon by many, and in some places you will be asked to leave if you do it. This limits where you can go and what you can do, and although you can express breast milk to be served from a bottle, this affects the temperature.
Additionally, some mothers feel that breast feeding causes unreasonable pain in the nipples. Expressing milk is a partial answer to this, but achieving the right temperature is only part of the problem there. Some people feel that feeding directly from the breast is the only way to establish the closeness that a mother and baby should have anything less and you will have to deal with people asking you why you are not doing it, and regardless of your reasons they will keep doing so.

New Born Baby Health
Breastfeeding a newborn baby is very important towards a newborn baby health. But how many times should a new mother breastfeed her baby?
Initially, your baby will want to feed between eight and twelve times a day. This is because it has a very small stomach and can only eat a small amount at a time and as you will become aware very quickly it will process the food very quickly into its diaper.
As he or she grows, however, so will their stomach and the time between meals will become longer. As a parent, the most welcome effect of this is that they will begin to wake less often in the night wishing to be fed. However, real life is never so simple, so you may have a few false starts before you eventually reach the stage where your child is not waking you most nights.
Part of this process is weaning your child. There will inevitably be some resistance from the baby in this respect. They have become attuned to being fed at a certain time each night, and a change in this routine will be an unwelcome one they are babies after all, and the concept of change is in a lot of respects a completely alien one for them. Sooner or later it has to happen, and the best way to ensure it is a success is to schedule things so that they are fed shortly before you go to bed for the night thus hopefully encouraging them to sleep through to the morning.
As your baby grows, you will find that they can eat more at one sitting, so take advantage of this by making each meal time more thorough and letting them eat their fill each time.

Newborn baby feeding
Newborn baby breast feeding is very important. Breast feeding can not only help building newborn baby immune system but also provides most of the best nutrition to baby.
With a newborn baby in the house, especially if it is your first, there is so much to learn that you simply cannot replicate with classes, books and additional parenting aids. Every baby that is born will have its own unique traits, and although you can learn a lot from other parents, from books, from TV and a wealth of other sources, there is always the fact that what works with one baby may not necessarily work with another. However, this should not be viewed as an apocalyptic warning. As a parent, you will learn quickly how to deal with your baby, and they will form an attachment to you.
The question of how often to feed a baby is one that often arises for new parents. With regard to how often they need feeding, it seems to differ slightly but is generally between two and three hours between feeds. At this stage of their life, any baby is programmed to sleep for short periods and awaken to be fed at such intervals.
This is why parents will talk about sleepless nights at the early stage of parenthood. As the child grows older, they will of course begin to go longer between meals, but at an early age, with no ability to articulate their needs nor understand what people are saying, they will find their own way to make things clear to you. This regularity of needing to be fed is why many parents keep the baby in the same bed as them in the early stages.
Avoid Sore Nipples While Breast-Feeding
One of the most common problems faced by breast feeding mothers is the sore nipple and the related pain. Sore nipple arises due to the improper positioning of the baby for latching or if the baby is not sucking properly.
Bond With Your Baby Without Breastfeeding
Breast milk is not a magic potion that creates a secure bond. Formula Moms can behave the same way as breastfeeding mothers.
Different Postures for Breast-Feeding
Breastfeeding makes your baby healthy and give him strength to fight against the diseases and infection. For feeding your baby you must find a position comfortable to both. Otherwise the baby won’t.
