You cannot patent a natural substance, or a combination of natural substances...you can only patent the name.

That is why recipies, for Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Perfumes, etc..are closely guarded, b/c if they go out, there is nothing that legally stops someone from producing the same thing, they just can't MARKET the product under the same name.

You probably need $1,000,000 or more of product liability insurance -- esp to sell to any chain stores. I'm guessing this could cost you $1500 a year -- but that is a real guess. And you need to be a business -- a sole prop or a subchapter S corp are your most likely choices -- depends on your finances.

Things like soap are really hard to copyright or trademark unless you have something really revolutionary. And you must be ready to spend a LOT to defend these protections -- otherwise you are probably best not bothering. Good luck.

We put our son in his own room at 10 weeks, he did great going from a bassinet to his crib and within a week he was sleeping thru the night. He is 3 and a half months now and sleeps from 9pm to 7am most nights sometimes he wakes up at 5 to eat but always goes right back down. I breastfed for only 2 months but it is recommended you do so for a year.

its recommended that your baby sleeps in your room for 6mths as a method of reducing the risk of SIDS. We had our son in our room until he was 15mths old, and he transitioned to his own room immediately with no upsets what so ever. We were relived because so many people said we were spoiling him and he wouldn't cope when we moved him to his own room - they were wrong.

We formula fed our son because it was what worked best for us. They recommend you breast feed your child until they are 12mths or longer if preferred.

It is recommended that the baby sleeps in your room for 6 months. I personally am planning on moving my baby out when she is around 3 months. I guess it should be based on personal choice and practicality. If your baby wakes frequently through out the night to feed, especially if you are breast feeding, it wouldn't be practical to move the baby out of your room. My LO sleeps 9 hours, and is bottle fed and naps happily in her own room during the day and has nearly out grown her basket that she sleeps in in our room, which is why she will move out of our room in a few weeks

I stopped breast feeding after 2 weeks, the main reason to be honest was because I hated it. It is recommended to exclusively breast feed for 6 months, but also to continue once your baby is weaning (recommended at 6 months) until they are 1 year old. Again I think it is personal choice, breast feed for as long as you are happy and comfortable to do so!

I nursed all 3 of my babies and all for different time periods. The longest was 8 months. The answer to sleeping in your room, for me when I nursed the baby would just stay in the bed with me if it was during the night. You do what you are comfortable with and your baby is comfortable with. My children are grown now but I had no problem with them sleeping in their own rooms, of course if they were sick it was fine that they slept with me I wanted them close anyway!

I had a bed set up in the baby's room and slept there most nights. I decided to co-sleep with my second because I knew my first would still need me up and going all day!
The baby was still sleeping "by himself" in his cot during the day. I guess he got used to the cot because at 4 months he was in there, sleeping through the night too and I could get back in my real big bed. All in all it is a personal choice. It all depends on what works best for you both and what you are ready to sacrifice!
